Peachtree Software Manages Remote Call
Center Agents Using DATA RACE's Be There!

SAN ANTONIO, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- DATA RACE® (Nasdaq: RACE - news) today announced
that Peachtree® Software has acquired and installed the Be There!® Remote Access System in their
Norcross, Georgia headquarters and at their Port Arthur, Texas location, both call centers. The
system will allow their remote call center workers to be centrally managed from the home office, and
will make it possible for the remote agents to utilize the same call distribution as their home office
counterparts.

With the Be There! Remote Access System, remote call center agents can simultaneously make and
receive phone calls, e-mails, and faxes, as well as access customer information databases and order
entry -- all over a single analog phone line. DATA RACE's patented Telepresence(TM) makes calls
placed to the remote worker's office number ring immediately at the PC. Thus, Be There! users
appear to be in the office, wherever they may be working. Be There! makes it possible for
home-based and remote telemarketers, help desk agents, and other call center professionals to
seamlessly integrate with the ACD, phone system, and data network of the central office, giving call
centers a new competitive edge by providing the ability to lower facilities costs and tap new labor
pools. With this unique technology, remote workers are as productive and accessible from home or a
remote office location as they are in the central office.

Peachtree Software has more than 20 years experience developing and marketing easy-to-use
accounting and business management software solutions for small businesses. Peachtree's desire to
provide customers with efficient and responsive customer service through their two call centers led
them to install Be There!. ''We needed to find a solution that would allow us to manage our call center
professionals in Port Arthur just like we manage our call center professionals here in Norcross,''
explained Rita Maloof, Peachtree's VP, Client Services. ''After reviewing several solutions, Be There!
proved to be the best solution for us, serving our remote access needs for these call center agents, as
well as greatly improving the productivity of our telecommuters and road warriors.''

Peachtree experiences a much higher call volume during December and January when small
businesses are closing their financials for the year. Peachtree considered several options to handle the
extra call load including hiring temporary professionals. ''We even considered flying some of our
professionals from our Port Arthur office into Norcross during the peak month,'' said Rita. ''With Be
There!, we have successfully integrated the remote call center, and are able to better handle the peak
season. By avoiding the expense of temporary agents and travel cost, our analysis showed that Be
There! would pay for itself in one season.''

Jim Arnstein, responsible for the implementation of the Be There! application at Peachtree,
commented, ''Be There! is extremely easy to use. Best of all, we didn't have to go through any
contortions to configure and connect. After an easy installation, our remote call center professionals
were up and running in minutes.''

''Call centers are faced with constant workforce pressures, including saturated labor markets, large
peak load demand, and high turnover,'' explained George Bennett, DATA RACE Sr. Vice President,
Sales and Marketing. ''Be There! makes it possible for call centers to tap new labor in the
work-at-home market, and to staff short peak load shifts, because the agent does not have to drive to
work. And because Be There! is designed with zero learning curve, the agent that has been trained to
work in the call center can immediately begin working from home, with nothing new to learn.''
