i think the "pop" is coming earlier, say 5+ days prior to the quiet period being lifted. roughly.

of course if there is a juicy "strong buy" coverage initiated, it runs. anything less (market outperform comes to mind here) and the stock suffers.

maybe but it sure works now and there is money to be
made. even non-internet plays have exhibited this tendency
strongly (PKSI 30+, PRSW 26+..). PRSW may have coverage
from Morgan Stanley though MS does not figure in their
underwriter list as MS venture capital owns a significant
stake in it.
