While you're here do you mind if I compare notes with you on this Nasdaq reporting problem that Rick mentioned. It's usually only the first 5 to 8 minutes of trading (in my experience). I don't think I've seen it extend beyond the 10min mark. I get real irritated with it. Sometimes I forget about it and then realize too late that I've been mis-lead by T&S. Like Rick says, Level II is fine. As a matter of fact, the bid/ask prints are usually right too on T&S. It's the trade price and time-of-trade prints that are off by a couple to several minutes. The busier the morning and stock, the worse it is.

I have serious doubts that this is a Nasdaq problem. Could you testify here from your vantage at Watley?

I'm not sure that I agree that it's a Nasdaq problem either, at least not as often as NASDAQ is blamed. Sometimes quotes at the opening have been lagged at ABW, similar to the problems that I used to experience (and that Rick is experiencing) at MBT. However, since I've gotten Qcharts as a backup, I've noticed that their feed has in general been pretty accurate at the opening when I've compared the RT and Qcharts feeds. I have a feeling it's more quote provider related. Glad I have Qcharts now :)

wily,

eSignal has exactly the same problem with NASDAQ T and S the first 5-10 minutes. Drives me up the wall.

wily, sorry to butt in - this is based on my CyberTrader experience: I also noticed the T&S problem during the first few minutes at the open. The problem is strange, in that the initial price levels, and price change bars (in the T&S column) are always accurate, but the price of the trades reported is wrong for several minutes *but not the time*. Initially I thought it was just an odd thing, that what I was seeing on LII bore no resemblence to the T&S (and so it looked like *all* the trades were wildly outside the market, through several price changes), until I noticed that if I allowed for a lag in reporting, it would match perfectly the activity on LII.
