I am starting to wonder if the DVD market for this year is really only 7MM units.

CUBE said they shipped 1MM units in Q2... if they have 30% market share, that means 3.3MM units shipped in the quarter. Assuming 0% growth in the 2nd half... that's another 2MM for CUBE in 1999 (1MM per Q).. and another 6.6MM for the whole industry (3.3MM/Q)... so if you add this up, you get CUBE shipping 3MM ZiVA chips in the last 3 quarters of the year, and the market being 9.9MM... to this, you must add the #s for Q1 1999...

to me this says one of 2 things.

Either CUBE has >30% market share.
or the DVD market in 1999 will be greater than 10MM units.
Either way, it's good for the CUBE.
