There have been some rather amusing and insightful posts today. If I've interpreted messages correctly, RTev is the only one participating on this thread who likes the new SI better than the old SI. If there are others who are pro new SI, please post your opinions.

RTev's comments are valuable, but there are many more opposing viewpoints. So, there is a mystery to be solved here. What is it about the new SI that is bothering people?

Suggested Negatives

Darker colors
Message lower on the screen
Navigation more complex
SubjectMarks (instead of BookMarks or FavoriteThreads)

I'll throw out another possible negative... the main blue bar at the top of the screen might be too big... too heavy. What if an option was put in place to turn off half of the blue bar (the second blue bar containing the quote box on the left and the pull down navigation box on the right).

Removing this second blue bar would:

Lesson the amount of dark color on the page
Move messages up on the screen
Remove some of the navigation thus simplifying the interface.

Agreed. And I bet there are ALLOT of people that haven't even voiced their complaints about the new SI site.

At least my whining and complaining, and subsequent upgrades will make it a bit more comfortable when we are forced to migrate.
