Not that I would advocate more regulation, but, if there were a requirement that ECN orders remain active for a minimum period of time (say 3 minutes or 5 minutes) then we would not of seen all of those fake bids on VPHM when it ran over 20 the last time on Wednesday. In fact, I doubt there would of even been a last run over 20.

OTOH, why should ECN users be subjected to any more exposure than the regular Market Manipulators?

Good morning, Anthony, I have to agree that we must never fail to protest and to at least bring awareness to the situation. In my case, however, I have a nearly insurmountable conflict of interest when it comes to criticizing these firms as many of them have been very generous to me in the area of syndicate IPO allocations. Some of them have also demonstrated great skills in price improvement of my larger trades.
