What if a settlement between DOJ and Microsoft ? What if Chinese currency did not devaluate? What if the whole Asia pull out of recession and buy more computers and high Tech products in general ?
Well, just look at the bright side !!!

If I had to exercise prophetic gymnastics at this point in time, I'd surmise that the sophisticated online investors of personal 401K's, IRA's, college funds, etc (excluding traders who have different agendas), though being more sophisticated than the average stiff on the street when it comes to the Y2K scare, will "figure" that money will start coming out of the market before Jan 1 thus temporarily devaluing their portfolio. And, in anticipation and response will, with the touch of the keyboard, try to time the pull-out and start selling stock hoping to avoid watching their stocks decline in value and maybe pick them back up at a bargain after Jan 1. He/she will figure everyone else will be doing it so the dilema is to do it before they turn on their computer one day and find that sell programs/momentums have already kicked in. These folks also know that some selling starts in September and October during normal years when mutual fund managers start selling/taking profits to fancy up the year end reports. So, do you think we could see some pulling out maybe late August? What I don't have a feel for is how the fund managers will play this Y2K thing in response to what they may feel is nervousness on behalf of their clients, institutional and otherwise.
