Part of the facts IS that Ms. Bessett was tied up at work and as a result they did not leave until much later than expected.

Part of the facts is also that JFK-Jr reportedly had no real experience flying at night, that there was haze, that one can become disoriented at night with no visible horizon line, that JFK-Jr was VFR qualified and not IFR, that he had only some 100 hours logged flying ANYTHING and much less in this type of plane. Another fact is that today there is word from an insurance company that he should have had a co-pilot on board until he had more hours in this type plane.

Part of the OPINION here is that he probably should not have taken off.

Inherent in your post is that the ONLY reason this could have happened is pilot error. I prefer to wait for the FAA and NTSB to come up with THEIR facts before I render MY opinions and for sure they won't be on the air or here.

Please differentiate facts from opinions... and if you feel CNBC is doing something wrong, please write to them.
