Coby, I am convinced that China has to solve this Taiwan problem one way or another in the next 10 years or so, if not shorter, and personally I am all for it. I think not only Clinton won't send troops to Taiwan, but also any successors of him who is not insane. But like you said, the US might support Taiwan in other forms, like give them advanced arms, etc. But all that depends on whether they can deliver them there, by sea or by air. And in case China blocks the whole strait, then unless the US declare war directly to China, they cannot send too much things in. And please do not forget, Taiwan does NOT have a self-sufficient economy. Economic block for 3-6 months will bring it down, IMHO.
