Joan, I am racking my brain (or is it wracking?) and can't remember the plot of the book, or for that matter, almost any other book I can think of. Just vague bits and pieces. I can remember movie plots, but not books. I guess I have a visual memory. Or maybe I am just going senile. Even Jane Austen, and I've reread her stuff quite a bit. The up side of having a poor memory, and this is something I've thought of before, but forgotten, is that books I like seem fresh to me when I re-read them, and I never remember who dunnit in murder mysteries that I reread.

Ohmigod. I was just thinking, Ulysses should be on cassette, it would work better if read aloud, and then found that it's been done, sort of, you can hear it on your computer if you've got Real Audio and speakers! I love the Internet. And yes, I love google.com, it's wonderful for finding stuff in the humanities. Thanks for passing that on. I think we may have to appoint you to a position of some kind, I don't suppose you'd like being Crone?;^) Probably too young for that, but what else does one call an elder wise woman? To differentiate from all the other wise women on the threads?

And it's all in text, too, here's the first chapter. Why anyone couldn't read it is beyond me. Now I want to read it again.
