bp,

I'm not going to short it, too volatile, but I used to short it. Again, never said it was DOA but now INTC "might" offer an alternative next year when RMBS was "projected" to be the only option on the roadmap. Now that supposed rock solid scenario "might" be changing, which creates uncertainty. And we both know what "might" happen in that environment!?

I am not trying to be a smart A@@, just making a point that none of us "know" what is going to happen, so we look at information presented to us and make a decision, that's all.

I am not trying to be right and hope I am wrong for the longs sake, just explaining my thinking....

Regards,

MileHigh

I believe the following has been talked about in one way or another, but it is worth mentioning again. MU and CPQ can hardly run their biz. as it is, MU had to go to INTC to get RDRAM's ready, they had been dragging their feet, moaning and groaning, CPQ can't run it's biz. without the old man coming back again and again, CPQ doesn't even have a CEO. The two of them are counting pennies and looking backward, I'm sure they are major source of the current moaning. One of the more important points to take from the news release is the following: " Sullivan said that if PC-133 proves viable, Intel may use it as another transitional technology to Rambus, though it wouldn't be ready until sometime in the first half of next year." The key points are, transitional and not ready till the first half of next year. So, all other manufacturers of PC's (DELL) and DRDRAMs that are ready will be able to make out while others fight and say they are not ready. Lastly, in the end Rambus technology will be the standard and those that are not ready, will try anything to be not left in the dust.

What does it all mean to us investor? 12 months from now we will see a 50% increase in our shares and get many opportunities to add at lower prices, that's what we are getting now.

bp,

"Sullivan said that if PC-133 proves viable, Intel may use it
as another transitional technology to Rambus, though it wouldn't
be ready until sometime in the first half of next year. The
current standard, PC-100, is still the official transitional
technology, he said."

Then precisely how long is the ramp up going to take???
Obviously far far longer than what we have been figuring on
