Here is the same thread in linear form: boards.fool.com and in tree form it's obvious where the conversations begin: boards.fool.com You can click on the "UnThreaded/Threaded" header to change. You can also click on "Author" to sort that column. I just think this is kind of handy

Threaded discussions are great. I recently sent some email to the beta site designer asking for threaded discussions. They are very powerful and I think that they are needed for any serious discussion board. One of my favorite implementation is at www.deja.com. Check out the way they allow you to look at threads and also have features like tracking a particular thread and navigating through a thread... here is the long link.
