ot--American Wireless Sets Sights on Offshore Markets

CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 1999--Triggered by the success of its
domestic activations network, American Wireless, the largest national wireless activations
agent/distributor in the U.S., has announced its expansion into Latin American markets.

American Wireless has opened an office in Miami to serve as a staging platform into Latin
America, naming cellular industry veteran Gilbert Valdesuso vice president, international, to manage the operation. Valdesuso
will be responsible for channel development, distribution partnerships, marketing and logistics.

''Latin America is a huge opportunity for us,'' said Jim Dunham, sr. vice president and general manager of American Wireless,
who noted that the telecom landscape is being drastically reshaped as powerful new multinational joint ventures move in to
build-out recently allocated spectrum with novel technology platforms such as digital PCS and wireless local loop. ''The
traditional exclusive relationships between the previous government telecom monopolies and distributors are a thing of the past.
New dynamics -- deregulation, calling party pays and prepaid systems -- are accelerating growth in Latin America, but they're
also changing the fundamental business formulae and squeezing margins. We believe our minimal overhead will enable us to
deliver product and services at more favorable price points.''

Valdesuso has over a decade of experience in the Latin American markets. While with Cellstar, he was instrumental in
developing handset distribution for new brands and telephony platforms in Argentina. Prior to that, he handled channel sales
and distribution for industry giant Nokia.

''We are planning a carefully orchestrated phase-in of our services,'' noted Valdesuso. ''Using Miami as our staging area, we
will focus initially on hardware distribution and fulfillment services for the Ericsson and Sony brands as we move into the Brazil,
Argentina and Mexico markets. We will expand from there into activations and other services as the various markets mature.''

Working through service operators and major retailers, American Wireless will provide integrated logistics and ''back office''
services, including warehousing and product fulfillment of handsets and accessories in CDMA, TDMA and GSM. American
Wireless' custom-packaged services will include programming, packaging, purchasing, shipping, export documentation, point-
of-purchase materials, custom product packaging, prepaid packaging and distribution and technical support. In business for
almost 30 years, American Wireless provides activations throughout the United States, as well as wholesale distribution of
cutting-edge wireless products and fulfillment services to carriers, retailers, resellers, dealers and agents in the U.S. and Latin
America.

The Campbell, Calif.-based company activates close to 400,000 subscribers annually for Nextel, Sprint PCS, AirTouch
Cellular, GTE Wireless, MCI Worldcom, and US Cellular and distributes wireless product for Motorola, Sony, Audiovox,
Ericsson, Plantronics and Garmin.

Ramsey- I f Q was priced the same as LU (which is should be) we'd be at 254. LU reported 77 /.26 x 4 = 74 x forward earnings. 74 x 3.44 = 254. hmmm. I didn't take a close look to see if the LU number of .26 was the pro-forma number.

Just goes to show, the street doesn't realize who and what the Q is yet.
