iVoice.Com, Inc. Launches National Marketing of Free Medical Outdial Patient Reminder Software PR Newswire - July 21, 1999 08:15
ABERDEEN, N.J., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- iVoice.Com, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: IVOC) has introduced its Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT-based OUTDIAL PATIENT REMINDER software and will begin to offer it FREE to any physician, chiropractor, physical therapist or dentist in exchange for switching their telephone company to one of the top providers of local, regional and long distance services. This $1,500.00 package includes a complete Graphical User Interface and works on any existing PC.
The theory is simple: A no show patient = loss of income.
According to a survey of physicians, more than 20% of patients do not show up for appointments. This powerful application allows medical professionals to automatically call patients in advance to confirm their appointments. According to Jerome Mahoney, iVoice Chairman, "This system is a no-brainer. The patient's name, phone number, appointment date and the number of days to call before the patient's appointment are logged into the computer, and the software does the rest. The next day the autodialer provides a confirmed report of who's keeping the appointments, who is not, who needs to be rescheduled, how many messages were left on answering machines and any unreachable patients."
Example of a Call: The system calls the patient at home and states: This is an Important Message, from Doctor Jones. "JOHN DOE (It spells the patient's name), you have an appointment on Tuesday, July 27th at 10:00 a.m. To confirm this appointment press 1 now." Appointment is confirmed. "To reschedule this appointment press 2." (The office will call this patient back.) "To cancel this appointment press 3." (The office will call this patient back.) The system gives complete reports of the status of each call, enabling the doctor to know days in advance who is keeping his appointment and gives ample time to fill in the open slot with another patient. The system can recognize a "no answer" and busy signals for later call backs and even leaves the message on an answering machine. In addition, this software also operates as an appointment maker to remind patients for general checkups that would need to be scheduled every 3 or 6 months, i.e., "Hello, Mr. Doe. It's time to schedule your 6 months checkup. Please contact our office to schedule a convenient time for your appointment."
Leo Pudlo, IVOC's Vice President of Operations, is ecstatic over this new software and its revenue-producing potential. "When you can show a medical professional that he or she can recover 20% of lost patient hours, that's big. With more than 1,500 physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists and dentists in just our local Red Bank, New Jersey yellow pages alone, just a 10% loss in patient hours translates into as much as $1,500,000 in lost revenues per day. (10 patients times 1,500 physicians times $100 average bill per appointment.) We could easily sell the software for $1,500 a pop and make more than $2,000,000, but by offering it FREE, our phones will ring off the hook. We make more money by introducing new customers to our telephone service provider. How much? 1,500 physicians times a minimum $500 per month telephone bill, times 15% = $112,500 per month. That's $1,350,000 in "passive" income per year, and that's from just one phone book."
