Obewon, read the press release very closely...

The only thing we really know is that NVIDIA has settled the lawsuit and cross-licensing has occurred. It's my guess that they had to pay out a pretty penny and NVIDIA is finding a way to make the deal look good. You've got to commend them for a great press release on something which is most likely bad news.

You KNOW that SGI has a far more extensive patent portfolio than does nvidia. So you know which way money had to flow. They settled the lawsuit though, which in some respects is good news for them...

Wasn't nvidia founded by ex-SGI employees?
