"No upside surprise, and subscriptions below the magic 640-650k numbers the bulls were hoping for."

Michael- Were you referring to my subscriber projection? If so, my 640-650k projection was nothing more than an item on my Christmas wish list. I was hoping for that super cool Lionel train set, and instead got a shiny new three speed Schwinn. (I am going back a few years to my days in the 60s. LOL!) Eric Davies gave me a reality check and brought me back down to the ground with his more sensible 610k subscribers. As fate would have it, I did not get that train. Oh well, Santa still gave me something cool. I'll take the bike!

As to the reaction by Wall Street? Who knows. I am all done trying to guess this crazy market. The bottom line is that the numbers are just fine. I have not read the entire report, but plan to do so after my swim.

In due time this ATHM train is going to gather up steam again. I have a seat reserved and don't plan to leave. There are still a few tickets left, Michael. You'd better buy one!:0)

It's time for a swim!

Hopefully we will get to pick this up at 40 tomorrow.

What bulls? Where do you come up with these "magic" numbers? What matters to most people is that 1 million by EOY is obviously a done deal. 1.1 Million is feasable.

I suspect that this earnings report will be granted a "who cares", which is pretty good considering the way other stocks have been selling off. Of course the primary reason is that we have sold off so far already.

If we can hold 45 for a few days we could start building a base in the 45-50-55 range. Otherwise its back to 40. Face it folks there is a leak in the internet "bubble" and its gonna keep on leaking. Time to test how much better we are because we actually have a solid future ahead.

One thing I find as a negative:
The # of homes upgraded is still moving at a glacial pace.

17 million this quarter,
15 million last quarter,
13.2 million the quarter before.
I couldnt find any mention of total homes passed. Did anyone else see that? It was 65 million last quarter.

This I did not know. Takes the sting out of the smaller # of page views Excite is getting:

The Excite.com portal led all portals once again with the highest revenue per page view, highest revenue per point of reach and highest time spent per page by visitors to the service.
