Sprint - Qualcomm-2: Cross Between Cell
Phone, Palm Pilot

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Sprint Corp. (FON) said it will purchase $400
million worth of wireless phones from Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM).

Sprint's wireless division, Sprint PCS, will buy Qualcomm's Internet
capable Thin Phone and pdQ models. The pdQ model is a cross between
a cell phone and 3Com Corp.'s (COMS) popular Palm Pilot handheld
computer. True to its name, the Thin Phone weighs a bit more than four
ounces.

Prices for the Thin Phone start at $99.99 while the pdQ will be offered at
retail for $799.99. Both models will be available later this year, Sprint said.
