I can't understand this, 1024 should be easily doable on a 12.1 display.

Here are my notes from watching Steve's keynote address on Quicktime:

QT-TV, with new content from ABC News, ESPN, ..., Disney

Sherlock 2 to be included in MacOS 9 (October 1999)
Features: a more powerful Internet search tool, now allowing data-type specific searches with corresponding fields. E.g. type in the name of a book or CD and Sherlock 2 reports all e-commerce sources along with pricing & availability fields. Other searchable data types: information, news, people (i.e. email & home page info.)

1.9 million iMacs sold since intro. in August 1998

25 USB peripherals avail. as of Aug. '98. 125 avail. now.

~4000 new software titles (including upgrades) since Aug. '98

...including games (demo'd Halo from Bungie---very slick 3-D graphics world)

(Jobs mentioned going to game developers and letting them "beat us up". Result: adoption of OpenGL software and fast 3-D hardware in Macintosh)

IBM announced ViaVoice voice-recognition for the MacOS.
