Komatsu Ltd. here has announced a high-throughput, deep-ultraviolet excimer laser source can double the life expectancy of the light chamber to 10 billion pulses, the longest in the industry, according to the company.

Anyone know what Cymer's stated chamber life is? Here's the only recent reference I can find, from Akins comments in the Q1 1999 conference call: "In addition, life tests at two-kilohertz showed the system's core module lifetimes far exceed present-day one-kilohertz lifetime."

Re <<The Japanese semiconductor equipment maker also announced the opening of a new training center in Hillsboro, Ore.>>

Who are (if any) the big manufacturers at this location? I wonder if Komatsu or Cannon have got a positive feedback from some one in this area?

I find the life expectancy of 10 billion pulses hard to believe. I bet it was at ideal conditions not fab conditions.
