No - today I broke my own trading rules and held my short through the close. I have no idea what will happen with the stock tomorrow - I'm eternally baffled by internet stocks - and I think there is an equal likelihood of AMZN going down based on the mediocre report as there is of it going up based on the split announcement. Regarding the split - while I do not know the reasons on which the board based their decision to split the stock - I hope, though, that the action was not taken in an effort to boost the stock price. I don't believe it is prudent for the board and CEO of a profitless company to take any action to boost its stock price other than those directed at increasing profits.
