The only oddity I've seen in the SubjectMarks count comes when reading messages 10 at a time. It doesn't always show all of the messages in the last group as read. It isn't consistent, however, so I haven't yet posted a bug since I can't figure out how to reproduce the error.

When reading messages individually, the counter has always worked as expected in my experience. (In other words, it's cleared to 0 once one starts reading the new messages.)
