<< Silly me, I thought the loss of the Rainforests and the like reduced the earth's ability to deal with Co2. >>

Certainly that is a contributing factor, but we also are pouring record amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere at the same time we are decreasing the number of trees. Keep in mind that almost all of our country East of the Mississippi was once forest. The Brazilians are asking why it is wrong to clear their forests when we cleared 99% of ours.

Actually, the real culprit is population. Too many people, all wanting to live a good lifestyle.

I know that Del is already doing his part by being sterilized, by living in a cabin in the woods with no internal combustion engines (cuts all his firewood by hand, goes everywhere by donkey, since horses are environmentally inefficient, doesn't use any electricity, since electricity generation creates CO2, and neither grows nor eats any food produced with any artificial fertilizers or protected with any pesticides). But the rest of us must do our parts.

The problem really is that we have done too good a job of defeating those forces which kept human populations down (war, disease, high infant mortality and deaths in childbirth, and famine). We need to bring those back. We need to get rid of all medical care except witch doctors, and eliminate all food not grown on family farms worked entirely without machinery or chemicals, and not shipped more than 20 miles from its point of origin. Of course, all electricial generation and devices, and all engines and motors of any kind, are verboten.

In this way, we will solve whatever problem of gobal warming there is, and eliminate all non-natural pollution.

I am waiting for the Sierra Club members to lead the way in this effort. With Del at their head.
