Hi Lorne,the question of colour is only one of distinction.If it is a rich distinct colour (any), then you may have a really valuable stone if it is otherwise clear (carbon spots,impurities).How valuable, then depends how fashionable that colour is at the time.However if it is only a tint (mostly yellowish-brown)then you have a greatly reduced value.I have recently seen on the internet where an Australien company tried to make their pinkish stones fashionable.Have not heard if they where successful or not.Distinct colours in diamonds are very rare and that's why they can demand a much higher price and usually get it.
