Rich,

<UTEK's loss of 0.05 is narrower than expected. Estimate was for a loss of 0.08. Bookings remain strong, and the company is building backlog.>>

The last thought I had last night as I stared at the ceiling and dozed off was that UTEK would never earn the $.02 that I have been forecasting for 99 Q2.

The CC was pretty good. With the placing of many of the bump tech Saturn Spectrum 3's in Q2. AZ said that in the next couple years, 25% of DRAM produced will use this technology and that he expected "several hundred machines to be placed in the next 3 years." AZ said this machine could be 25% of sales in 99.

Encouraging remarks were made re V2500 saying that he expected some machines to be sold in the next 6 months and that it is working out quite nicely.

AZ said GM will improve nicely in the second half of this year.

AZ was asked "Does UTEK have the facilities and floor space to get 300 bump tech machines built and shipped in the next 3 years?" AZ said, "absolutely." I thought I heard him say under his breath that he didn't know how he was going to tell sales/marketing and all administrative staff that their desks are now on the sidewalk. <<<GGGG>>>>

There was a lot of interest in the bump machine at Semicon (yes I attended) and they had one on display behind plexiglass. I was impressed and oogled over it like every other geek trying to check it out.

So what should I start guessing for earnings in Q3? I'm going to start with $.10. I was too bullish for Q2, but I knew it.

Comments anyone. Feel free to tear this apart.

Ever, D

Verdant continues, but didn't get much discussion.
