TOKYO -(Dow Jones)- Net Perceptions Inc. said Friday that it has
signed an agreement with three Japanese companies to establish a joint
venture in a bid to advance into the electronic commerce market.
The venture, Net Perceptions Japan, will sell the U.S. company's
products and provide technical support and consulting services.
The company will be capitalized at 100 million yen ($857,000), with
the U.S. company (NETP) providing 45% of the capital. Trans Cosmos Inc.,
NTT Software Corp. and Toyo Information Systems Co. are the Japanese
companies involved in the venture.
Net Perceptions is a supplier of real-time Internet-based
personalization products that enable businesses to interact with their
customers on a one-to-one basis.
"We are targeting total sales revenue of 250 million yen for the year
2000 and a user base of 100,000 on the Internet," said Hiroyuki Ono,
manager of business planning and development at Trans Cosmos.

Scott, I pulled the plug on NETP this morning. I'm afraid that the market is a bit unstable, and therefore took appropriate action to refocus and reduce my positions down to my core (larger cap) holdings. I think that raising some cash now will pay off in the near future.

My decision to sell is no reflection on my thoughts on NETP. This is simply an objective, defensive move.

I also sold out of MCOM and CKFR.
