When will this policy go into effect? Will the ability to turn off advertising in certain areas include the ability to turn off the 'Sponsored by Datek' label?

Thank you for the clarification. There may be a bit of lobbying in the future about the commercial links (defined by SI as non-advertising but by some members as advertising), but it's nice to know where things stand. A question: it is not clear to me how the Coffee Shop boards are to be handled. You said that paying members could turn off advertising in the "Stock talk" areas, but didn't specify whether coffee shop boards are considered Stock Talk boards. I encourage you to so consider them; otherwise I foresee some major fights over whether the Jokes and other threads can rightfully reopen under the BioTechonology area. <g> However, I also think that those of us who have paid to be here shoud be able to walk down the metaphorical hall to the electronic water cooler without passing e-billboards on the way.
