another article on copyright in a digital age:
theatlantic.com

a snippet:
Copyright owners will thus be condemned to play an eternal game of catch-up, according to Mark Stefik, a researcher at Xerox PARC, the editor of Internet Dreams, and the author of the forthcoming The Internet Edge. A real solution to piracy will require what he delicately refers to as "a hardware component."

fwiw,

Klingerg--Yeah, imagine my surprise to open up the WSJ and find Anthony staring at me! No mention of Wave, which was just as well. Is it possible that the word has gone out (on Anthony's private site) to cover, thus the lack of our friends Pluvia et al visiting us?

And by the way, has Wave announced the time and place of the annual meeting? I thought it was going to be in July, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I'm definitely going to make this one...

FYI...Interesing reading in Fortune Mag. this week....

"The Newest Addiction" by Marc Gunther - Quote of interest "... Sony, Sega, Microsoft and Electronic Arts are betting that games played over the Internet will be the biggest thing since Monopoly."

pathfinder.com

Also "Goodbye To TV As We Know It", by B. Schlender. This article describes the newest generation of set top boxes, dubbed "DVR's" (digital video recorders). A cross between a PC and a VCR, it incorporates a hard disk, a modem, and silicon circuitry to enable TV programs entering your home via cable, satellite dish, or antenna into digital bits (up to 30 hours worth) that the hard drive can store for you to view at your convenience.

Now after reading these think about the Wave Chip and Embassy. Both of these new internet/broadcast ideas seem to fit the strategic vision described by Wave in the past.
