to: mark silvers from: truedog mark, I deplore the violence in our streets and anywhere else it is glamorized. I do, however, like to see the good guys beat the snot out of the bad guys. We should try to make it clear that crime does not pay enough to suffer the consequences. But, as I have said before, the only gun control that ever had a chance of being successful, would have been if the Chinese could have been prevented from inventing gun powder. You can make laws on gun control until you're blue in the face and only the honest people will abide by them. Those who violate the law don't give a fig for any law that may be passed and will always find access to guns. Many even know how to make their own. Those two maladjusted discontents in Colorado would have found a way to do their dirty deed regardless of any gun law. I don't condone assault rifles or other fully automatics but your laws will not stop them. TD
