I think John's idea about going without electricity for awhile is a good one...I tried to see how long I could go without heat last winter and gave up at about 50 degrees!

However, your point is an excellent one, Cheeky...so many of these things use gasoline or propane, and I know that a lot of people will be dumb enough to use them indoors. I imagine that there will be a lot of articles in the newspaper, warnings on TV and so on, but there will probably be some tragedies nonetheless.

I did buy a fire extinguisher as part of my preparation. It's puny, I know, but I thought that I should take some extra precautions with the wood stove, even though I've had them before in other houses without any problem. And, of course, having a home fire extinguisher is a good idea, anyway.

Hey Cheeky,

What's up I see you are still at it with the Doom and Gloomers etc.
Just wondering where are all the problems that we were supposed to be seeing by now that these guys were predicting 6 months ago. I figure I drop in every three months or so. Even I believe the CEO of Gateway Computer is full of crap when he say he see's no Y2K slow-down whatsoever, that's going a little too far. I'm ready to short that pig when it turns down.
