I just wanted to smack the guy around who was asking me my name and what year it was. <g> I think I was in fight or flight mode.

<edit> come to think of it, I wanted to choke my husband everytime he told me to "breathe" when I was in labor. Guess you don't want tangle with me when I'm on an endorphin high.

My experiences would support what you're saying about feeling at least a bit high in the face of a near fatal wound. I remember cracking jokes with hospital staff and doctors as they wheeled me into the operating room after having been stabbed. I hardly felt the wound at all!

Unitil I woke up hours later... ouch.
