Ah, Neo, here I thought you, Mel, and many others (myself?) were intelligent beings capable of clear thought and logic, now I find y'all (I) are but PC members of the babbling masses. baaaaaaaa Break your chains and be free. I've really enjoyed your posts. And JLA's. And Coug and Mel and others. Wow, what an odd assortment. <g> p.s. I just read your section of article about Reagan. Interesting. There is much in the latter part that I agree with.

I have never been entirely sure whether the credit - or blame, as the case may be - should go to Reagan or to the scriptwriters. I recall that every time I saw the man in action I had a visceral sense that he was being handled, and had been chosen less for any personal quality than for being a congenial and pleasant mouthpiece. I suppose it doesn't really matter, in the long run. I will never forgive him his insistence on propping up his old buddy Marcos, and his refusal to admit to the truth of what was going on here, but I don't expect that would mean much to anyone who wasn't here at the time.
