Something had changed in the past couple of days.

Yep, big time!

Wondering if others have the same problem as I do.
AOL and SI beta users - PLEASE READ THIS

I have AOL, and DO NOT launch IE, as AOL already uses IE. As of Thursday evening I could not longer get into the beta site. It would not take my username and password. Each time I entered it, I was returned to the same 'Welcome' page. Now mind you, I am able to get into the old version using the same user name and password.

After several PM's and emails back and forth with SI, finally via telephone we discovered that I could enter the beta site, but only through launching IE and using IE outside of AOL. It was thought possibly had something to do with 'cookies.'

Now I use AOL tech support online, ask them about the IE situation. I am informed that AOL uses Internet Explorer in the Windows system and launching IE should not change the outcome. They as what version of Windows I use. Because my answer is 98, it will be necessary to make a slight change to my computer and AOL.

We make sure the "Disable Cookie Use" is not checked in the control panel. (It was not)

Then they have me go into the control panel and find the Network icon, click the AOL adapter, then click remove. When this is done the computer is prompted to restart. When I sign back on AOL the adapter is recreated. All this done, I now try the beta version, and still NO GO. Again, I can get into the old version, just not the beta version.

Now I call AOL via telephone to speak with a live person. We check the version of IE. Again, I have Windows 98, using IE version 4.1. (I did not download 5.0 because I had some problems with it on another computer in my home.) The live person thinks that possibly it could be due to the version of IE I use.

Next step, I download IE 5.0. restart my computer, go into SI........SAME PROBLEM....CANNOT GET INTO THE BETA VERSION

Launch IE outside of AOL...voila I'm in.

This is a major PITA (Pain In The A**) for me. I do not have anything set up on IE, I do not work through IE, and to launch it for SI only, is a silly.

Does anyone know what the problem is?
Is anyone experiencing the same thing?
Can anyone help?
