I am not an expert, by any means, but that is what I have heard. It takes a large number of solar cells to collect even enough energy to run a house, which must be supplied during the night, and cloud cover, and rain. This requires a lot of even more cumbersome storage batteries. In the end, most people who had opted to experiment with solar power in their home found it too much, and it is completely impractical for a city...
