An update for the week that was...

The information in my previous posts regarding shipment of the Metal Finishing application continue to hold, this may be EVTN's first order and will hopefully close by the end of August.

The Ballast Water project at Maritime continues with further trials and reports on separator efficiency and it's possible the first steps towards prototyping of a solution will start in the September timeframe if the parties agree.

My champagne will be suitably chilled waiting for the first of these events to occur!!

My EVTN information page has been updated and is at:
geocities.com

(NB This currently has a "Marine" theme seeing that most of what EVTN is doing at the moment is based around cleaning up water in one way or another!)

If anyone has some more links or suggestions please let me know. I may be reached at rogue_trader@ragingbull.com, or privately with SI.

Regards
RT

Update on EVTN and Maritime! -

I spoke with both at the end of this week and the excitement on the progress of the various applications is easy to see.

EVTN is about to deliver a customised separator unit for the Metal Finishing application the beginning of this coming week which will hopefully result in the first sales to the Co. This is all taking place as planned and once the EVTN unit has been installed it's possible this will be a reference site for the further marketing
of this application into similar facilities.

Maritime continue work on their proposal to a large shipping Co. and other authorities in relation to the treatment of ballast water for ecological protection.
Some tests on sand separation recently carried out at EVTN continue to show results that are far ahead of any competitor product and confirm that the EVTN separator can meet this requirement. Maritime think it is likely that for this application the separator will be stage 1 of a multi-stage treatment process which will be necessary to deal with the smaller organisms which are around the same density as water and can't be so easily separated.
Timescales for the Maritime application start with the delivery of a proposal at the end of August leading to preliminary confidence tests at the end of the year. Any ship-borne testing is not likely to happen until next spring.

Maritime are also looking at a multi-stage process for a oil tank cleaning application which would involve an 8" separator and a stage 2 unit from another supplier. In this situation the EVTN separator is used for the initial oil/water separation and is the only machine available which can provide the throughput required for this application. Since this is a direct commercial requirement and the products are more or less off the shelf it is possible this application will proceed to development more quickly than ballast treatment. I'll keep everyone updated.

Anyone interested in more information on Maritime and the potential for the separator in this field should take a look at my earlier post:

ragingbull.com

The EVTN separator fills a niche in the market by being the only product able to provide the throughput necessary for shipping applications. Following initial acceptance by one shipping Co. in any of these fields it is likely that other interest will be shown and takeup will widen. Machines of sizes 8" and above are high-value items (in the range $hundreds of thousands and up) and IMO any developments here will be extremely profitable for Maritime and EVTN.

Regards to all,
