Wayne, I don't know how professional it is to watch the economy die under the abuses of AG. <g> I didn't see it. Unfortunately, most of the folks in Congress don't understand a word Paul says, and they regard him as a nutburger.

Wayne:

Ron Paul's (congressman from Texas) questioning of 'easy Al"?

Too bad Congressman Paul didn't also ask Mr. Greenspan directly about the widely suspected connection between his organizing of the bailout of LTCM and the surprise interest rate cut a couple of weeks later. I'm paranoid enough to think he made a deal. Wonder how those guys made out in the market explosion a couple of weeks later when the interest rate cut came at 3:15 PM, after the bonds closed, and, as I recall, on option expiration day?

I wrote my congressman and one senator and got no real answer.

Maybe I'm just too cynical.

Jack

Paul's great, isn't he?

He's not at all loved by the GOP powerbrokers; I think they even tried to oust him in the last primary, despite him being a sitting Congressman.

Ron Paul is the only politician who has gotten me to the polls to vote in the last twenty years. Tim

Wayne, regarding Congressmen challenging AG, Bill Holtzman made a great comment on the msft thread:

I haven't seen one yet that didn't make a complete fool of themself. When Greenspan talks to them, it's like Gary Kasparov explaining chess to Pamela Anderson: he'd only be doing it to get laid! It'd be inconceivable that she would grasp anything. Oops! I mean, nothing could possibly come of it. Whoa! I'll just stop there...

ROFLMAO
