LG: I'd rather see the surplus used to pay down the debt... That would lower real interest rates and have greater long term benefits to our economy than a one time tax cut... Also, a tax cut would be viewed as inflationary by the FED... That would be the peg that takes down the market... Jim

<OT> Well you really don't want to get me into politics on this thread I'm not A DEM , REB, LIB, Lobbyist OR Comie. I am a vicious and radical pragmatist who is feed up with the political BS in this nation. To stay in focus on the issue of a TAX cut or paying down the debt. You won't get both believe me. And the giving your Tax dollars back with a tax cut is and always has been pure BS by any one who mouthed it. All tax cuts have always been to rob someone to give to someone else bar none, it's just a power struggle to see who pays the less, and any fairness in it went out the window before the civil war. I don't buy the surplus crapalo so why are they playing on that, there is no surplus if your debt keeps going up and the higher the debt goes the more pressure is on the working man to service it. This is all pencil pushing double entry horses*it, and right at this time it is the Republicans who are the guilty party, and that's the point. Don't make them out to be a bunch Sunday school do goodies that are never blameless for anything. And comparing them to what some one else has done is the crap of crap wrong is wrong no matter what the other snake did. This play on the so called surplus to give their buddies tax breaks at the expense of fixed income people most of who salved to get the few dollars they have is an outrage. I'm not second guessing either a cap gains tax always hurts the poorest of people the most, it's pure bulls hit that it stimulates or helps the economy , we really need to put some tax on the investment bankers via a TOBIN tax on currency swaps and stop some of this criminal activity in high places. The only effective way to reduce interest rates is to reduce the National debt. High interest puts a load on the system that has destroyed many a nation through out history. Finger pointing from one issue to the next I have no tolerance for , that's like the rapist saying the Pedophile is so bad I'm good. The second thing that pees me off is not a damm one of them said crap about voting themselves a raise , ya lets cut spending but give me a raise, but they killed minimum wage..o my raise is just a cost of living raise because there is no inflation. I have never seen such a two faced bunch of aresholes as we now have in Washington, ( well yes I have but I hate remembering it ) anyway if you gut and gilled the whole lot of them I wouldn't be bothered one bit. As far as I'm concerned the only time a Dem or Reb is worth a crap is when they are out of office and looking for a job. The crappest party always turns out to be the one with the majority, power somehow does that to them. Jim
