You didn't say where I was wrong. I suggested that one prefers one's child to speak in a way that advantages him or her, and that using dialogue as a verb doesn't do that, whatever the OED says. What was the more controversial point I made?

I only disagree on one point. Given your fetish for accuracy, I would think you would know that the OED has only 20, not 30 volumes. A factual error in one of your posts -- tsk tsk.
