Maurice. Was reading your old post on G* as relates to Q. Came across one where you speculated that G* had a break even of $0.08/min talk time. Of course, they would sell time for more and operators would mark it up too. Even so, combining this idea with my recent GTE cell phone bill, I came up with the thought that Sprint PCS might be a real threat to Cellular one and US cellular if Sprint integrates their service w/ G*.

I use GTE/US Cellular dual mode simply because every populate place in the US where I go has service. However, counting airtime and roamer (on Airtouch last month) I paid $13.20 + tax for 12 lousy minutes. That's $1.13/min.

It seems to me that, if 1) the G*/Sprint dual mode is not to clunky & 2) Sprint/G* could provide true nationwide coverage for say an additional $0.30/min while talking on G*THEN Sprint would force a panic reorginization of assets and rate structure on the two cellular phone operators.

I am sure others have thought of this, but I have never seen a post on the subject. Maurice, what do you think of this concept?
