HMT Qualified to Begin Supplying Advanced Media to Western Digital Corporation for its 20.5GB Desktop Hard Drive Program

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 4, 1999--HMT Technology Corp. (Nasdaq:HMTT) today announced that its 6.8 GB per disk giant magnetoresistive (GMR) media is qualified and now shipping to Western Digital Corporation's Caviar series 20.5 GB desktop hard drive program.
