<<In '39 my father bought our house for cash...$3,750 for nine rooms in three stories, >>
Nowaday the poor or Veterans can buy houses in $100K without plunging down a penny. (I got an offer to buy my house but I need to pay him 7K cost so he can own my house, besides my own fees which are already in a couple of thousands for a house less than 100K).
People now have many toys and burdens (big trucks, cellular phones, cable TV, pager, gym fee, big Screen, credit cards interests, mail box, full feature phone service...).
Personally, we came from a deprived country, yet my nephew who just came here a couple of years can dole out couple of hundreds for long distance calls a month while he is still a penniless student (a shock to me and his family).
Well I guess whole hell breaks out if unemployment rate hit 15% or more....
Best Regards,
