IMO, there is way too much emphasis put on insider selling. Insiders with significant holdings can sell for a number of reasons, but the biggest reason is diversification. Holding a high percentage of your net worth as stock of ANY company is foolish.

Bill Gates regularly sells small percantages of his stake in MSFT and has a professional money manager invest this money in anything but technology stock.

If anyone here is concerned at the recent sell-off, blame it on Greenspan. His bias towards raising rates and fighting inflation have had a much more immediate impact on tech stocks than insider selling.
