He's confident that enough money understands his investment strategy that he can joke about being profitless.

During the conference call, one ananlysts quipped to Bezos that she hoped he wasn't using software engineers how had worked on the new Denver airport [baggage-handling system]! She knew he knew better. Same idea.

No, I'm not. Amazon is a very ambitious infrastructure play. If the sales comes, they will be ready. Or from the movie field of dreams; "If you build it, they will come".

You gotta have faith. If you don't then don't play.
