Baromtec Selects SanDisk MultiMediaCard to Store
Music On New MP3 Internet Music Player

Business Wire - July 26, 1999 10:30

Baromtec Device Is Fourteenth Announced New Internet Music Player To

Incorporate The SanDisk MultiMediaCard

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 1999--SanDisk Corporation
(NASDAQ:SNDK) announced today that it will supply Baromtec, a Korean consumer
electronics company, with its MultiMediaCard for use with Baromtec's new MP3 internet music
player.

A SanDisk MultiMediaCard will be included with each Muz.M BMP-100 internet music player
sold. Each unit is designed with a specific slot for MultiMediaCards to be used for the storing and
play back of downloaded internet music.

Nelson Chan, SanDisk vice president of marketing, said, "With the introduction of Baromtec's
ultra small and sleek MP3 internet music player, we believe that the MultiMediaCard form factor
is proving to be the best storage solution for the new internet players. MultiMediaCard is the
world's smallest removable flash data, image and audio storage device. The Muz.M BMP-100
required a small, low-power storage card solution and we're delighted that Baromtec selected the
SanDisk MultiMediaCard."

Baromtec's Muz.M BMP-100 is the industry's fourteenth announced new internet music player to
use SanDisk's MultiMediaCard to store and play back music.

The Muz.M BMP-100 weighs only 0.95 ounces (without battery) and measures 1.89 x 2.5 x
0.63 inches and includes a built-in voice recorder which consumers can use as a memo device to
store about four minutes of voice recording per megabyte. Operating on only one "AAA" battery,
the very small, light and easy-to-use internet music player can offer up to eight hours of
continuous play back. Baromtec's Muz.M BMP-100 will be available to the Korean retail
channel next month. Baromtec plans to sell the Muz.M BMP-100 through the OEM channel in
other countries, including the United States.

James Lee, president of Baromtec, said, "The MultiMediaCard is quickly becoming the industry
standard for storage used in MP3 players. This market will grow rapidly and we are pleased that
we have teamed with SanDisk, the market leader in flash memory, for data, image and audio
storage, to provide a portable music player which we believe will be extremely popular
worldwide."

Semico, a leading market research firm, recently produced a forecast for solid-state music
players. Semico concluded that nearly 3 million units would be sold worldwide next year, 7.8
million units in 2001 and more than 13 million players would be sold in 2002.

SanDisk Corporation, the world's largest supplier of flash data storage products, designs,
manufactures and markets industry-standard, solid-state data, digital imaging and audio storage
products using its patented, high density flash memory and controller technology. SanDisk is
based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Aus & thread,

it absolutely blows my mind how strong SNDK has been. Its relative strength is unbelievable. To have had a run like this, and not trade down on a day like today...

I can't wait until the Nasdaq starts flying again.
