James, Hmmmm so what's Maffei's gloomy Y2K forcast with booming PC sales? There is no alternative to MSFT OS + office suite right now so this should bode well for them

The real question to me is about Office Suites. The low cost PCs probably don't ship with this. Like i stated before, DELL used to sell consumer PCs with Office97 in Canada----a buyer had to take the small business edition. Those types of sales are probably not as common.
On the other hand, i had recently read (i think it was this thread) that over 80% of MSFT's sales are to corporations. If that is true, not to worry about the cheaper PCs trend.
