Ellen, the 10th of July was for Compass Data

per the news release from 2 weeks ago,

""BNEZ shareholders will receive one share of each of the spin off corporations for every ten shares of BNEZ. The record date of the spin-offs is July 24, 1999. ""

it is now to late to buy BNEZ stock and get shares in the spin-offs, the company is trimming its excess baggage, hopefully in the best interest of the current shareholders to get the most for the company and for the new prospective owners, if there are any.

Ellen, the record date for the 3 spin offs was July 24th, so if you didn't own by last friday, it is to late now.

The record date is simply the date the transfer agent closed his records on who will receive dividends (ugh), splits or spin offs. Should you purchase the stock after the record date but prior to the actual event, you trade with a due bill. This means you are entitled to the money or stock. With today's technology you have little to fear as to being overlooked. Hope this helps you and others.

Ellen, it is not too late.
