Jim: You are comparing Intel and AMD, and one thing comes to mind:

Who do you think is looking farther out, AMD or Intel? This is a serious question. It's one thing to challenge the lead in a horse race, it's another to actually win.

I believe that part of Grove's paranoid culture includes constant scrutiny of the here and now, tomorrow, next quarter, next year, the next decade and the next 20 years. It may seem impossible to do in this industry, but Intel believes it is necessary and they have the resources to do something about their future and the future of the industry.

And that's a good thing for INTC. dmf
