Duker,

I may be 41 but nobody believes me when I tell them my real age. 21 year olds at my school have even asked to see my driver's license. They can't quite believe I'm the same age as their parents. Chances are because of my youthful looks I probably won't have to worry about age discrimination until I'm about 50 or so at which time I hope to be self-employed but one never knows.

As for the EEOC and other such agencies: unfortunately, too many gov. agencies fall far short of their missions. The same can be said for many other organizations. Bureaucracies are not well known for their efficiencies. I don't like bureaucracies like the next person. Nonetheless, organizations (be they private or public) that protect one's civil rights regardless of who you are (white, Black, male, female, poor, middle class, etc.) are very much needed because all too often people try to take advantage of others with less power.

It would probably be a good thing if congress and other gov. bodies were lead by people with not only law training but business training as well! I'm a firm believer that everyone should receive some business training. Good business training teaches you about life and yourself, responsibility and independence, about how to deal with people, how to handle a constantly changing environment, how to produce results with limited resources and many other things too long to mention here. I have no doubt a great many businesses, especially small businesses, would benefit as a result!!!
