An outright sell signal gets issued when we get a 2 week period where declines beat advances by a 2:1 margin. I'm keeping track.
It sounds, feels, and looks like the very early stages of a Bear Market. The Internets are lying right here and now at very crucial fragile levels. If AOL and YHOO have another day tommorow like they had today, they will be in a confirmed Bear Market and many stop loss orders will get triggered. AOL could see $60 fairly quickly.
A recession is very likely. We are living in fantasy land in the USA with the stock market soaring the way it has. Truth is tough for most Americans to bear. But the bear is here. Robust Consumer spending has come primarily from the money machine called the US stock market. Take away Big Daddy and what do most Americans have to spend?
What comes around goes around.
