ACK!

Eric Yang with a negative sentiment on Apple? NEVER!

Funny, I was just looking at the Apple Store this morning, and I thought it looked pretty good. Haven't ordered anything from it, but.... Perhaps Apple should include links from the Apple Store to ClubMac, MacMall, etc. What could it hurt?

<<I don't think people want more functionality out of their TV's (settop boxes), but rather want to wire their computer to their TV and have functionality delivered to them..... AAPL is very well situated w/hard and software to take advantage of this. >>

There are several products on the wintel side known as "Digital VCRS".

They usually consist of a tuner card and a large hard drive that allows you to record shows digitally. You can then edit, or playback, skip commercials, etc. with the right software.

Where is the Mac version of this? Bundle this with the next generation of iMac and you don't have a set-top box, but a set-in-box!

<<I don't think that is true.
MSFT has stepped back from streaming and is dealing directly with Real (perhaps for the time being, but I don't think MSFT will try to undercut them...too many legal hassles).>>

Microsoft is already giving away their Windows Media Services server software for free. In fact, it's based on technology they licensed from Real. If that's not undercutting then I don't know what is.
