Ram,

<Just a vagary!>

I am not too sure if it is a vagary. I am under the impression that some of S3s gains in the recent past have come at the expense of the buggy Whitney. But, I saw an article yesterday that said Compaq is shipping their PIII system with Whitney with a backup RTC chip. So, the short term Whitney gravy train may be coming to an end for S3. The thing that I wonder is how big a part of S3s business is affected by this? I am looking to this thread for some answers.

<Don't worry too much. >

I am not worried about my SIII investment because of the terrific book value but I am concerned about the appreciation potential. I am counting on good graphics biz for Q3 and good MP3 sales for Q4 to give the shareholders a banner year.

That is not reassuring. Is it? ALSC is trading at $8+ compared to $11+ before the bad news came out. I still believe in the value but I do not like where the stock is trading at.
